Foundation Program Overview

CITY Foundation Program

  • The City Foundation Program is comprised of our player development academies.  Our academies will provide a fun, challenging and age appropriate training environment where players will develop the skills and techniques needed to become a successful soccer player.   Sessions will be run by the ECSC coaching staff and the entire Foundation Program will be run by ECSC technical staff member Wade Whitney.  Soccer experience is not needed to help create a great learning environment for your child!

    Foundation Program Goals:
Develop a good relationship with the ball by learning basic fundamental skills of soccer: dribbling, trapping, and passing.
Feel more comfortable with the ball and your feet as a result of repetitive, individual exercises that focus on ball coordination.
Improve control of the ball with many touches.
Playing soccer is completely enjoyable and exciting.
Implement skills learned on Wednesdays at Saturday "Play Days."

Wednesdays: Specifically geared toward players working on specific elements of soccer:
    First touch
    Changing direction
    Small sided passing

Saturday "Play Days": Philosophy and structure:
    Implement skills learned on Wednesdays.
Time when players can have unrestricted, short sided games.
    Limited coaching and without referees.
