Winter 2017 CITY Foundation Program (rec program)
The City Foundation Program is comprised of our player development academies. Our academies will provide a fun, challenging and age appropriate training environment where players will develop the skills and techniques needed to become a successful soccer player. Sessions will be run by very experienced CiTY coaches (Mamadou Kansaye, Glenn Cadenhead) and the entire Foundation Program will be run by CiTY technical staff member Wade Whitney. Soccer experience is not needed to help create a great learning environment for your child!
Our Winter Program has 3 sessions to choose from, each 5 weeks long. Each session must be registered for separately. Every participant will receive a t-shirt. Space is limited, so don't delay registering. Each age group has a maximum of approximately 20-25 players to ensure sufficient playing space.
Foundation Program Goals:
Develop a good relationship with the ball by learning basic fundamental skills of soccer: dribbling, trapping, and passing.
Feel more comfortable with the ball and your feet as a result of repetitive, individual exercises that focus on ball coordination.
Improve control of the ball with many touches.
Playing soccer is completely enjoyable and exciting.
Please have your player wear either sneakers or flat bottomed soccer shoes, shin guards, and comfortable athletic clothes. In addition, bring a soccer ball (size 3 soccer ball for TOT & Youth, size 4 soccer ball for transitional) and water.
